CoD: Ghosts is PS4′s New Bestseller, Reminds Gamers of PS3

- Gamers reminisce about jaggy lines and screen tearing

The moment PlayStation gamers have been waiting for is upon us: The first PlayStation 4 sales numbers from VGchartz are finally in, and in addition to confirming the record-breaking launch of Sony’s new and mean machine, it brands Call of Duty: Ghosts as the most-selling PS4 game after the console’s first couple of days on the shelves.

Pixeled Courier took to the streets (or to the Internet forums, it’s cold outside) to find out just what it is that makes Call of Duty: Ghosts so attractive for fresh PS4-owners.

“There’s just something about Ghosts that makes me think back to the great times I had with my PS3,” Reddit-user JJKAE tells us. “During the weekends, my PS3 and I would lie in bed together and play Call of Duty: Black Ops II. We didn’t have a single care in the world. I guess the low-res textures and crappy effects in Call of Duty: Ghosts on PS4 remind me of the good old days with Call of Duty on PS3.”

NeoGAF -user xXHarrizXxxX shares a similar story with Pixeled Courier. “I would sit up late at night with my PlayStation 3 and play Call of Duty. When my PS3 and I got tired of the cliché storylines and repetetive multiplayer, we’d simply turn off the game and snuggle instead. Those really were the days, and it’s so nostalgic to feel the same nauseating need to exit the game in Call of Duty: Ghosts on PS4.”

The top 10 best-selling PS4-titles from VGchartz are as follows:

  1. Call of Duty: Ghosts
  2. Battlefield 4
  3. Killzone: Shadow Fall
  4. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
  5. Madden NFL 25
  6. NBA 2K14
  7. Knack
  8. Need for Speed: Rivals
  9. FIFA 14
  10. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes

To comfort some of the PS3-nostalgics out there, we at Pixeled Courier feel fairly safe in saying that your new life with PS4 is not gonna be turned upside down.
